Emerson Gutters

Dallas Rain Gutter Installation & Repair

Are you a homeowner who is looking to add a more rustic look to complement your modern or contemporary household or barn? Consider getting galvanized steel gutters! Galvanized steel is treated with a very special coating that helps your gutters resist corrosion, making it the strongest material for gutters in the market. Lasting up to more than 15 years, this is a very popular option for those who want easy cleaning and durability against the harsh elements, water, and even heat!

If you live in an environment of severe high and low temperatures, or if the weather changes quickly, galvanized steel might be the right choice for you to consider. Because of its coating and durable material, it is less likely to warp or travel away from the foundation of the home, which often leads to water leakage in particularly vulnerable or problematic areas.

Furthermore, this design is simple for homeowners to maintain and check for possible cracks, corrosion, or other issues. It would also not get broken or dented whether you use ladders for home renovation projects or to install holiday lights or decorations. For several, this heavy-duty material is a no-brainer, so allow our team of professional gutter installation technicians at Emerson Gutters to install the new gutter device today.

Galvanized Steel Gutters

Galvanized steel gutters are a common alternative for commercial building gutters. Since they are more rigid than aluminum and have a greater overall capacity. They even tolerate paint well, allowing you to complement the colors of your structure. They are a decent investment because they are long lasting and robust.

Rain gutters made of galvanized steel are more rigid than aluminum gutters. They are more resistant to the effects of stray objects. Steel does well in conditions where aluminum fails. Ladders, broken trees, reckless workers’ footsteps, heavy rain, and even hail are examples of these kinds of factors that could potentially damage an aluminum gutter.

Steel is a very popular option for commercial buildings, however, bare steel rusts. This is where the coating of galvanized steel comes in. When it comes to galvanized steel gutters, our galvanized zinc coating seals the steel and makes them very highly resistant to rusting, which makes them both long-lasting and durable.

In comparison to aluminum, galvanized steel is very much a denser material. In climates that have fairly extreme temperature changes, such as coastal or desert environments, aluminum is susceptible to changing shape and size. It’s not generally a noticeable change to the naked eye, but these kinds of bends have huge impacts on the alignment of spacers, end caps, downspouts and hanger mounting hardware.

Over years of swelling and contracting joining points in aluminum gutters, they have high chances of failing and leaking. With galvanized steel gutters, thermal warping is not an issue, which makes galvanized steel generally better in hot or rapidly changing environments.

Gutter Sizing

  • We determine the best gutter sizing for your property depending on the roof area.
  • Residential home standards use 5” wide K-style gutters
  • In larger roofs, 6” K-style gutters are the standard.
  • Half-round gutters are usually 1 inch wider than K-style gutters to provide the equivalent capacity.

NOTE: 6 inch half-round gutters are the same as 5 inch K-style gutters. Because of their low flow capability, four inch wide K-style and five inch half-round gutters are rare except on small roofs.

Wider gutters are ideal for hard surface roofing materials like slate and tile. Sometimes used on steeply pitched roofs to protect water from pouring through the gutter. A bigger gutter often channels additional runoff to the downspouts.

If a larger gutter becomes partly clogged with dirt, it would do better than a smaller gutter with a comparable clog. For these purposes, we still prefer the larger sizes when they are available. Bigger is safer when it comes to rain gutters.
